How Door-to-Door Waste Collection Works
1 min read
What happens between the moment you hand over your waste and the moment it reaches a treatment or disposal site.
घरदैलो फोहोर संकलन कसरी हुन्छ
1. Fixed Routes by Ward
Each ward is divided into routes. A collection vehicle follows the same route on a regular schedule, so households and shops know roughly when to expect it. Every vehicle carries GPS, which lets supervisors check that each route was covered.
2. Handing Over Your Waste
Keep your waste in a closed bin or bag and hand it to the collection crew when the vehicle arrives. Please do not leave loose waste on the road or in drains: it blocks water flow and attracts animals.
3. Keep Waste Types Apart
Kitchen and garden waste, dry recyclables such as plastic, paper and metal, and hazardous items such as batteries or medicines should be kept separate. Separated organic waste can become compost and clean recyclables can be recovered as scrap.
4. Service Fees and Receipts
Waste-service fees are set by the metropolitan city. When you pay, ask for a receipt; our collection system records each payment against your customer record.
5. From the Vehicle to the Site
Full vehicles take waste to the treatment and disposal sites. In Birgunj, waste goes to the ISWM Center at Ward 16, where it is recorded at the weighbridge before it is placed in the landfill cell.
6. If a Pickup Is Missed
Call customer care for your city: Bharatpur 056-595944 (Sunday to Friday, 10 AM–5 PM), Birgunj 9829228545 or 9820907423. You can also use the online complaint form with your ward and tole.
